Topic - Southern California Avocados
Isabel Barkman will cover the basic tasks of growing avocado trees, including choosing varieties, site selection, planting, irrigation, and year-round care.

Speaker - Isabel Barkman
Isabel Barkman is a local gardening expert who has been a UCCE Master Gardener since 1999 and a member of the California Rare Fruit Growers, Inc. since 1991. She has presented at numerous plant and gardening events and is a volunteer at the South Coast Research and Extension Center in Irvine and at the Centennial Farm, focusing on caring for various fruit and deciduous trees.

A Note to Parents: The Centennial Farm is open to the public 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on this day. However, we ask that children not be left unattended in the Farm while you are enjoying the Garden Class. Classes are intended for participants 16 years and older only.
